COVID-19 Response

This is an uncertain and unsettling time for us all, and we understand your reliance on ESP to continue to provide uninterrupted energy to your homes and businesses.  Whilst we have had to adapt the way we work, our commitment to providing the very best service has not changed.

The government has recognised those who work to keep the UKs energy networks connected as key workers.  Along with others providing essential services at this time we are prioritising safety measures along with continuity of supply and looking after those most vulnerable.

Wherever we can we have introduced home working arrangements for our staff.  This is operating well and our staff remain on hand and ready to respond to any queries you may have.

Where it is not possible to work from home, for example attending emergencies or carrying out critical safety inspections, we have provided additional protective equipment and introduced strict policies on hygiene and social distancing in line with government guidelines.  If someone working on behalf of ESP is required to enter your premises, they may ask some additional safeguarding questions to ensure they can complete the work in a safe manner.

We have scaled back any non-essential on site works and are only continuing with inspections where they are deemed critical to ensure the ongoing supply of energy to the homes and businesses connected to our networks.  We understand the need to keep the lights on and energy flowing to support everyone who is having to adapt to the new lockdown arrangements.

This situation will be particularly difficult for the most vulnerable in society and those who are now forced to remain at home for their own wellbeing.  We would encourage anyone in this situation to sign up to the Priority Services Register which provides additional services for customers in the event of a power cut.  You can click here to find out more or contact your energy supplier.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update our policies in line with the latest guidance, but if you have any questions or concerns you can contact us on 01372 587500.
